;        estimate.
;    <attribute_institution>:  Starts a subentry for the institution attribute

;    <independent_algebra>:  An algebraic equation describing how to combine 
;        input scenarios when calculating the attributable estimate.  For 
;        instance to estimate the anthropogenic warming from CMIP5 "historical" 
;        and "historicalNat" simulations, one could input 
;        'Historical - HistorcalNat'.  Note that the labels used are arbitrary, 
;        but the same labels must be used in place of the "EXPERIMENT" in the 
;        <independent_EXPERIMENT_file> subentry.
;    <independent_variable>:  Starts a subentry providing the variable label to 
;        use in the input data files, following CF/CMIP5/C20C+ D&A protocols.  
;        For instance 'tos' is sea surface temperature, 'ts' is skin surface 
;        temperature, and 'tas' is surface air temperature.
;    <independent_EXPERIMENT_file>:  Starts a subentry listing the files 
;        containing data from independent experiment "EXPERIMENT" for use in 
;        characterising that experiment.  The "EXPERIMENT" should be replaced 
;        by a label, in particular the appropriate label used in the 
;        <independent_algebra> subentry.  So for the 
;        'Historical - HistoricalNat' example for <independent_algebra>, there 
;        should be two subentries indicatedd by '<independent_Historical_file>'
